The Hasley Multi-Strategy Fund is a new fund of funds which provides a diversified and administratively simple total portfolio management solution. The concept is to invest across a broad range of diversified and lowly or non-correlated asset classes in order to achieve less volatile performance than that derived from typical portfolios of equities and bonds. The fund is invested in the carefully researched funds of third party managers.

The advisor to the fund is Hasley Investment Management LLP, which was founded by two highly experienced investment professionals, Jeremy Nunn and Roderick Collins. Jeremy has made his career in private client stockbroking and asset management, notably with Vivian Gray and Dexia. Roderick has worked in different aspects of merchant and private banking, amongst others at N.M. Rothschild as Managing Director of James Capel International Asset Management and Chief Executive of Matheson Financial Holdings; he serves on the board of JP Morgan Income and Capital Trust and on the investment committee of a medical charity.

The initial portfolio is likely to include approximately a fifty per cent equity exposure which will itself be diversified and weighted towards sectors and regions which Hasley favours, such as the UK, South East Asia, Emerging Markets and Natural Resources. The remainder of the portfolio will be exposed to low or non-correlated assets such as hedge fund tracker notes, investment trusts of hedge funds, UK and European property, private equity, life policies and various absolute return products. The Hasley team undertakes well over one hundred investment manager meetings each year and has identified skilled managers from both large managers and boutiques to undertake the tactical management.
